Overview: New SEN Provision at Stanground Academy

Stanground Academy is excited to announce a partnership with the Peterborough SEND and Inclusion Service to establish an Autism Hub for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils. This initiative aims to support up to 8 students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, providing the necessary assistance to access the mainstream curriculum effectively.

Key Details
  • Purpose: To create an inclusive educational environment tailored for students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, enhancing their social and independent skills alongside academic learning.
  • Facility Upgrades: Conversion of under-utilised spaces within the academy into a specialised classroom, breakout rooms, and an office, funded by the Local Authority.
  • Impact: The new provision will not affect current or future mainstream students but will enrich the academy’s overall educational quality by expanding staff expertise and resources.
  • Leadership and Staffing: The hub will be managed by existing school leaders with the addition of new specialised staff, aiming for an opening by Easter 2025.
